CODESYS Control for emPC-A/iMX6 SL is a runtime environment based on CODESYS V3 for implementing a PLC with the Linux-based, real-time capable industrial controller emPC-A/iMX6 from Janz Tec AG. After installation the product, the PLC can be engineered with the CODESYS Development System (V3) from 3S-Smart Software Solutions GmbH.

Operation on Linux without root privileges

By default, the CODESYS Control SL runtime runs on Linux in user space without root privileges, under a dedicated unprivileged user/group. Functions requiring elevated privileges are handled by the separate CODESYS PrivilegeProxy for Linux product, which requires root privileges. This is the default behavior; if required, operation can be configured differently (e.g. with root privileges). CODESYS PrivilegeProxy for Linux and CODESYS Control SL must always be used in the same version.
