Description
The product CODESYS Control RTE SL is a real-time software PLC for PC-based industrial controllers under Windows. The runtime system has its own real-time kernel and provides deterministic execution of IEC 61131-3 control applications without additional hardware components or operating system extensions.
Applications are programmed with the CODESYS Development System in all IEC 61131-3 languages (IL, ST, FBD, LD, SFC, CFC). Standard PLC features such as online change, breakpoint debugging, write/force, retain and persistent data, device logbook, user management, encrypted (TLS) communication, alarm management, recipe management as well as trace and trend recording are included. Add-ons such as the CODESYS Git integration are available via the CODESYS Store.
The Runtime Package includes drivers for the common industrial fieldbusses and protocols: EtherCAT (with Distributed Clocks), PROFINET Controller and Device, EtherNet/IP Scanner and Adapter, CANopen Manager and Device, Modbus TCP and Serial, Sercos III Master, J1939 and IO-Link Master.
For higher-level communication and IIoT scenarios, the runtime provides an OPC UA Server and Client, OPC UA PubSub, MQTT, network variables, SNMP and the CODESYS PLCHandler API for external HMI and diagnostic tools. The CODESYS IIoT libraries (REST, JSON, e-mail, MQTT, web client) and the CAA libraries provide additional function blocks for IEC 61131-3 applications.
The runtime includes target-based visualization (local display on the controller and remote display from a CODESYS panel) and browser-based web visualization. Their availability depends on the application-based license tier.
Optional functions activated through the application-based license tier include motion control with PLCopen-compliant function blocks (CODESYS SoftMotion, including CNC and robotic kinematics) and hot-standby controller redundancy.
For functions not covered by the application-based tier, dedicated CODESYS Store license modules are available, e.g. CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL for IoT function blocks, CODESYS OPC UA PubSub SL, CODESYS BACnet SL and CODESYS KNX SL for building automation, as well as approved third-party CODESYS-compatible products.
